You will get a glimpse of all the amazing sights in Khasab during the lovely trip on the traditional dhow boat. As a part of this journey, on the second day, you will go to the Jebel Harim Mountains for a half-day mountain safari in a 4WD vehicle. The drive features breathtaking mountain and valley scenery and ascends to a height of 1.784 metres above sea level, providing panoramic vistas.
Day 1:
6:00 am: Meet and greet in Dubai. Along the road leading from the United Arab Emirates to Khasab, the capital of Musandam, one can see panoramic views of the Gulf of Arabia and the Strait of Hormuz. At the Al Dhara border, you will need to present your valid Oman visa. As a candidate for an on-arrival Oman visa, you will have to show your original passport in order to get the Oman visa. You’ll then set out towards Khasab.
When you arrive at Khasab harbour, a staff member will greet you and assist you in finding your dhow so that you can enjoy cruising into the most expansive, picturesque, and serene bay on the Musandam Peninsula, Khor As Shimm Bay (18 km long). You will see coastal hamlets like Nadifi, Qanaha, Maqlab, and Seebi as well as other coastal settlements when we cruise down the coast. One of the most exciting and memorable aspects of the Khasab Dhow Cruise is seeing dolphins or other exotic marine animals. There is a very high chance of spotting dolphins or other unusual sea animals, unless extremely terrible weather.
As our first stop, we will visit Telegraph Island, a telegraph relay station built by the British between Bombay (India) and mainland Britain in 1864, which used to serve as an underwater and overland bridge. It is possible to swim and snorkel in the pristine waters of the Fjord at Telegraph Island and Seebi Island, which are surrounded by calm and pristine waters. Fishing will also be arranged during the cruise. During the cruise, lunch and refreshments will be served on board. Snorkeling equipment and towels will also be provided on the dhow.
16: 00– Drop back to Khasab Harbor and then Transfer to Hotel for the Overnight stay.
Day 2:
Breakfast will be served at the hotel on the second day, before you depart on the half-day 4WD mountain safari tour.
9:00: You’ll depart for the Half Day Mountain Safari to Jebel Harim on a closed and air-conditioned 4-wheel drive vehicle. Driving on winding mountain roads is part of the mountain experience. You will also be able to enjoy some of Oman’s most stunning scenery during your half-day 4WD mountain safari. The safari will take place at Jebel Harim (translated as Mountain of Women), the highest point in the Musandam Peninsula, at a height of 6,260 meters.
Jebel Harim is home to terraced mountain villages, lush Acacia forests, and wadis (dry river beds). Following a drive of over an hour, you’ll stop at the Bedouin village. The picturesque village of Sayah, located at 3,000 meters above sea level, is surrounded by palm groves, making it one of the most picturesque on the Musandam Peninsula. You’ll pause here for a few moments to take photographs and to enjoy the setting before continuing your journey to Jebel Harim. Upon reaching the top of Jebel Harim, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent view of the Musandam region.
Upon returning to Khasab, you pass Khawr Najid, where you can enjoy a beautiful sea view of the Indian Ocean. This half-day 4WD mountain safari adventure trip ends at Khasab port after visiting Al Khalidya Nature Park.
